Sky and Telescope reports that stargazers have an opportunity to see comet Nishimura close to the east to northeast horizon throughout the first part of September. Those living in the lower 48 states will see it barely above the horizon. Earth.com says it will resemble a "star-like blob with a signature tail." Though NASA notes that comets are erratic, the comet should be seen with the naked eye; its brightness ranges from 4 to 5 magnitude. Seek it before Sept. 13 at dawn and sunset.
